The Chicago skyline, in my opinion, is the prettiest in the US. Whether you’ve been to Chicago or not, seeing the city from Lake Michigan is the one thing you should definitely do.
Wendella is one of the only companies that do a combined tour of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. Don’t get jipped and take a cruise that only takes you on the river! Wendella’s tour lasts 90 minutes and I found it to be informative, comfortable and fun. Did I mention the full service bar on the boat’s bottom level? Tickets will cost you $27 per person, with discounts for seniors and kids. Check with your hotel because sometimes they can get you a lower price. Wendella’s boats are located on Michigan Ave at the river, right next to the Wrigley Building. They usually leave every hour on the hour 10am to 9pm, but check their site for the latest schedules. Bring a warm jacket, you’re going to need it!
